Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is well-known for his sharp-edged character or smart characters in action movies. He has appeared in more than $2.5 billion dollars worth of films. Walter Bruce Willis was born on the 19th of March 1955 in Idar-Oberstein in West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey), who were then living at the United States military base. His family moved to U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was raised in Penns Grove by his mother who worked in a bank, and his father, who was a welder employed in a factory and welder. Willis began to develop an interest for drama in high school, and was "discovered" while working in the cafe located in New York City and then participated in a couple of off-Broadway productions. He was working as a bartender one night when a casting director noticed his personality and asked for his services as a bartender in a small movie. Willis was a candidate for a variety of roles in films, but he was not credited. He finally got the role of David Addison, a private eye, along with Cybill Shepherd, in the romantic comedy show Moonlighting (1985). The sly and wise-cracking P.I. His humor-filled and wisecracking P.I. is frequently seen as a pre-test to test his character John McClane, the hardboiled NYC detective in Die Hard (1988), in which Willis fight a group of ruthless international thieves at an Los Angeles skyscraper. He reprised the role of McClane in the follow-up film, Die Hard 2 (1990) and was set in wintery Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of renegade Special Forces soldiers seek to repatriate a corrupt South American general. The film's impressive sales at the box office led to the sequel, Die Hard with the same vengeance (1995). This time Samuel L. Jackson starred as a cynical Harlem shopkeeper who was unaware of his role and was forced to help McClane during a terror attack on a scorching New York City day.
