Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a member of "Saturday Night Live," before appearing
on such major-screen comedy films as 'Elf"Anchorman," "Talladega
Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine, California in 1967. He began his
career in comedy by playing an actor for the Los Angeles-based improv group
known as the Groundlings. After his highly acclaimed seven-year stint as a
performer on Saturday Night Live, he became one of the film industry's most
popular comedians through off-color successes like Old School (2003) and
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004). Ferrell was also co-founder of
the streaming site Funny or Die and enjoyed the success of voice acting in
animated films such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell, born July 16, 1967
in Irvine, California. Will Ferrell is the eldest child of Righteous Brothers
keyboardist Lee Ferrell (and Kay Ferrell), but he wasn't the class clown while
he was at University High School. Ferrell who was quiet and studious, chose to
make his mark on the field where he set the school record for the most field
goals scored. Even in the more comfortable environment of his suburban home,
Ferrell displayed little of the outrageous, humorous bursts that would
eventually to define his career. His mother, who was interviewed by Esquire and
Esquire, stated Ferrell was calm and amiable. "You do you know those
little Matchbox cars? Will arrange his Matchbox cars on his own, and be totally
happy. It would be a simple question "Do you wish to visit Disneyland
today?" or "You want your cars lined up?" It would be a
difficult conversation for him to consider. "That's not to say Ferrell was
a straight guy. When he made the daily announcements via the PA system, a
glimpse of his comedy talents was revealed each day in high-school. Upon
graduation in 1986, Ferrell attended the University of Southern California at
Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Delta Tau fraternity and pursued the
degree of sports journalist.
